Al-Rumaisa Yaqoub, is a Yemeni young woman-youth activist from (people with disabilities), The founder of the National Network to Support the Rights of People with Disabilities, and the Head of ROOM Foundation. Al-Rumaisa holds a master's degree in International Law and International Humanitarian Law, and currently pursuing a PhD in the same field. She also holds three Bachelor's degrees. Al-Rumaisa is considered a passionate youth activist and researcher on youth issues, gender, and peacebuilding, and an advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. She participated in various meetings and workshops, where she was the official speaker at the meeting of American envoy Tim Lenderking on youth issues and the path to integration in the peace process. Al-Rumaisa received various shields and rewards, such as the Humanity Shield from the Prime Minister and Minister of Human Rights, the Volunteer Award in Yemen, and many other awards. She currently holds the position of Director General of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights, a member of the Political Forum and the Berghof Organization of the German Foreign Ministry, and a member of the influential women’s political and youth leaders, calling for enhancing women’s participation in national dialogue and decision-making.
