Bio: Basma Nasser is a journalist and radio director currently working at a French radio station, in addition to her work as a freelance journalist and special correspondent for the Maison des Journalistes in Paris. She has participated as a speaker in several international media and press conferences, including the International Journalism Conference in Tunisia (2022) and the Global Media Conference in Germany (2023).
She began her career in media and advocacy as a public speaker and human rights defender in 2011. She co-founded the Yemeni Secularists Organization and the Yemeni Feminist Voice Organization, and is also a founding member of the Enlightenment Organization and the Women Solidarity Network. In 2025 she was selected for the “Voices of the Diaspora” program implemented by a group of renowned international media organizations, including ReportersWithout Borders (RSF).
Basma is a prominent advocate and motivational speaker known for her feminist activism and advocacy for gender equality. She campaigns for secularism and against racial discrimination and slavery in Yemen while defending minorities. While in Sana’a Basma participated in a youth engagement project aimed at strengthening regional youth networks and promoting human rights and democratic participation in the Middle East and North Africa.She also worked for three years with the Youth Leadership Foundation and was an active member of the Youth Association for Development, contributing to its political and youth initiatives.
Basma holds a Bachelor’s degree from Sorbonne University, Faculty of Arts, specializing in Foreign and Regional Languages,Literatures, and Civilizations, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Oriental Studies, majoring in Political Sociology. In Yemen, she completed her BA in Mass Communication- specialization in Radio and Television from Sana'a University.

بسمة ناصر هي صحافية ومخرجة راديو تعمل حاليًا في راديوفرنسي، إلى جانب عملها كصحافية مستقلة ومراسلة خاصة لبيت الصحفيين في باريس. شاركتكمتحدثة في عدة مؤتمرات إعلامية وصحفية دولية، منها مؤتمر الصحافة الدولي في تونسعام 2022، ومؤتمر الإعلام الدولي في ألمانيا عام 2023. تُعد بسمة من الناشطات النسويات البارزات والمدافعات عن المساواة بينالجنسين، وتناضل من أجل العلمانية وضد التمييز العنصري والعبودية في اليمن، إلىجانب دفاعها عن الأقليات.
منذ عام 2011 بدأت بسمة مسيرتها المهنية في الإعلام والمناصرة كمتحدثة عامةومدافعة عن حقوق الإنسان. وهي مؤسسة مشاركة لمنظمة العلمانيين اليمنيين ومنظمةالصوت النسوي اليمني، وعضو مؤسس في منظمة التنوير وعضو في شبكة التضامن النسوي. في2025 تم اختيارها للمشاركة في برنامج "أصوات في الشتات" الذي تنفذه مجموعة من أبرز المنظمات الإعلاميةالدولية، من بينها منظمة صحفيون بلا حدود.
في صنعاء شاركت بسمة في مشروع مشاركة الشباب لتعزيز شبكات الشباب الإقليميةوحقوق الإنسان والمشاركة الديمقراطية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، كماعملت لمدة ثلاث سنوات في مؤسسة القيادات الشابة.
كما كانت عضوًا في منظمة الشباب للتنمية وشاركت في مشاريعها السياسيةوالشبابية.
تحمل بسمة درجة البكالوريوس من جامعة السوربون كلية الآداب، تخصص الأدب واللغات والحضارات الأجنبية والإقليمية، وتستكملحاليًا دراسة الماجستير في الدراسات الشرقية تخصص علم الاجتماع السياسي. في اليمن حصلت على درجة البكالوريوس في الاتصال الجماهيري - تخصص في الإذاعةوالتلفزيون من جامعة صنعاء.
