Bio: Farida Ahmed(@fariiahmed) is the Executive Director of South24 Center for News and Studies. She is a researcher and political analyst specializing in the affairs of Yemen, the Gulf, and the Middle East. Her research and policy analysis focus on conflict dynamics, armed groups, peacebuilding, and the role of regional and international actors, with particular emphasis on the politics and political and security developments of South Yemen.

She holds a Master's degree in Political Science from the Institute of Arab Research and Studies in Cairo. She began her professional career in journalism in 2006, working as an independent journalist with several television and online media outlets, where she wrote and edited news and produced television reports before transitioning into research and policy analysis.

Farida has designed and implemented a number of initiatives and projects in the fields of development, youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and women's rights in Yemen. She has also participated in numerous conferences, professional training
