Saada Alaya is a journalist, media professional, and human rights activist with extensive experience in media and rights‑based work, as well as in managing campaigns and projects. She also possesses advanced skills in leadership, communication, coordination, planning, and managing programs and executive initiatives.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media from Sana’a University (2004), and completed the pre‑master’s program in Media (2008). She has worked in news and report editing, preparing investigative stories and surveys, conducting television and radio interviews, and covering events and activities of various kinds.
She has held several leadership and executive positions, including serving as the Executive Director of the Yemeni Network for Human Rights (2013–2015), and as Assistant Executive Director of the Human Rights Violations Monitoring Program in 2015. She also worked as a consultant for the Yemeni Network for Emergency and Communication Solutions (YNEXT), and previously served as Head of the Rights and Freedoms Unit at Women Journalists Without Chains (2007).
In the media field, she worked as an editor for the Education Page at Al‑Nidaa Newspaper (2005–2008), and wrote articles and investigative reports for Najah Magazine (2006). She also contributed to the design and implementation of wide‑impact media and human rights campaigns.
She played a prominent role in professional advocacy campaigns, serving as the Coordinator of the Press Freedom Campaign for the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate and the International Federation of Journalists (2009), and as the Coordinator of the Ethical Journalism Campaign for the same organizations (2011). She also served as Deputy Head of the Higher Coordinating Council for the Youth Revolution in 2011.
She has also worked as a human rights trainer since 2016 and has participated in numerous Arab and international conferences related to media and human rights.
At the institutional and community levels, she is a member of the International Federation of Journalists, a founding member of the Adwar Organization, a member of the Arab Women’s Fund, a member of the Youth Shura Council (2005), and a member of the First National Team. She also served as a member of the Central Committee of the Nasserite Unionist People’s Organization for two terms (2005 and 2014). In addition, she is a member of the Women Media Professionals in the Diaspora Network.
سعادة علاية صحفية و إعلامية وناشطة في مجال حقوق الإنسان، تتمتع بخبرة واسعة في العمل الإعلامي والحقوقي وإدارة الحملات والمشاريع، وتمتلك مهارات متقدمة في القيادة والتواصل والتنسيق والتخطيط وإدارة البرامج والمبادرات التنفيذية.
تحمل درجة بكالوريوس في الإعلام (قسم الصحافة) من جامعة صنعاء (2004)، كما أنجزت التمهيدي ماجستير في الإعلام – قسم الصحافة (2008). عملت في مجالات تحرير الأخبار والتقارير، وإعداد التحقيقات والاستطلاعات، وإجراء المقابلات التلفزيونية والإذاعية، وتغطية الأحداث والفعاليات بمختلف أنواعها.
شغلت عدة مناصب قيادية وتنفيذية، من بينها المدير التنفيذي للشبكة اليمنية لحقوق الإنسان خلال الفترة (2013–2015)، ومساعد المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج رصد انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان في العام 2015، كما عملت مستشارة للشبكة اليمنية للطوارئ وحلول الاتصالات (YNEXT)، ورئيسة قسم وحدة الحقوق والحريات في منظمة صحفيات بلا قيود (2007).
على صعيد العمل الإعلامي، عملت محررة لصفحة التعليم في صحيفة النداء (2005–2008)، وكتبت مقالات وتحقيقات صحفية في مجلة نجاح (2006)، إضافة إلى مشاركتها في إعداد وتنفيذ حملات إعلامية وحقوقية واسعة التأثير.
كان لها دور بارز في الحملات المهنية، حيث شغلت منصب منسقة حملة حريات الصحافة لنقابة الصحفيين والاتحاد الدولي للصحفيين (2009)، ومنسقة حملة الصحافة الأخلاقية لنقابة الصحفيين والاتحاد الدولي للصحفيين (2011). كما كانت نائب رئيس المنسقية العليا لثورة الشباب 2011.
عملت كذلك مدربة في مجال حقوق الإنسان منذ عام 2016، وشاركت في العديد من المؤتمرات العربية والدولية ذات الصلة بالإعلام وحقوق الإنسان.
على المستوى المؤسسي والمجتمعي، هي عضو في الاتحاد الدولي للصحفيين، وعضو مؤسس في منظمة أدوار الشبابية، وعضو في صندوق المرأة العربية، وعضو مجلس شورى الشباب (2005)، وعضو الفريق الوطني الأول، كما شغلت عضوية اللجنة المركزية للتنظيم الوحدوي الناصري لدورتين (2005 و2014). وهي كذلك عضوة في شبكة إعلاميات في المهجر.
