The Women Solidarity Network condemns the aggressive practices of Houthi’s “Ansar Allah”, towards a group of academics, who have been detained, arrested while on their way to the city of Aden to receive their salaries.
We condemn in the strongest terms these practices and violations of the civil and human rights.
These acts are an intimidation to every civil servant who has been trying to travel to receive unpaid salaries for more than two years, which has caused painful humanitarian and social situations in Yemen.
We at the Women Solidarity Network do not accept these unlawful acts and we clearly state that the Ansar Allah group should stop these practices and not involve the people in the political conflict process because cutting salaries and depriving people of their only income exposes innocent citizens to need, disease and famine.
At the same time, we stress that all parties in Yemen must take responsibility and address the issue of salary cuts and work together to generate realistic solutions
and the legitimate government should also assume its responsibilities in this vital and important matter.
We call upon the international community and the United Nations to provide support in this regard
