The Women Solidarity Network expresses its full support for the women's movement and the women's demonstration held in Parade Square in the capital, Aden, on 10 May 2025. We commend the resilience of the courageous women who took to the streets to demand their legitimate rights and improved living conditions in Aden and other liberated areas.

The Network underscores the importance of responding to all the demands raised by women, including the provision of basic services, preserving the value of the local currency, ending the economic collapse, and addressing the manifestations of poverty, ignorance, and illness affecting families in Aden.

We also emphasize the importance of empowering women through quality education and adequate healthcare, rejecting dependency, and listening to the voices of people inside the country. The government's failure to uphold people’s rights and respond to their demands is unacceptable, especially under the difficult conditions currently experienced in Aden.

The Women Solidarity Network calls on all relevant actors to listen to women’s demands and work towards meeting their urgent needs. We also call for support to the feminist movement and for enabling women to actively participate in building a better life where human dignity is protected.

We will not allow women’s rights to be marginalized or their demands ignored. We will continue to advocate for our rights and for a better, democratic, and equal future for Yemen.

Accordingly, the Women Solidarity Network urges the government and all decision-makers to:

  • Effectively respond to women’s calls to access their rights.
  • Improve basic services for all citizens to ensure a dignified and safe life.
  • Guarantee that wages meet the cost of living and ensure a decent livelihood.
  • Enhance essential services, particularly electricity and water.
  • Ensure the provision of quality education.
  • Improve health services and facilities, especially those focused on women’s and children’s health.
